A Staten Island Hero's Story
Carl V. Bini was a dedicated firefighter with an 18-year career at the New York City Fire Department, assigned to Rescue 5 in Staten Island. His bravery and commitment to helping others were tragically highlighted on September 11, 2001, when he lost his life during the catastrophic events at the World Trade Center. Known for his generosity and his belief in always lending a hand, Carl's legacy is one of courage, compassion, and community service.

Commitment to Community
Carl V. Bini's legacy is a testament to his profound commitment to service, exemplified by the creation of the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund. Established in his honor, the Fund channels Carl’s lifelong passion for helping others into tangible community support, aiding those in crisis and fostering local initiatives that make a real difference.

Leadership
The Bini Fund has allocated over $150,000 in scholarships and has shown significant growth, especially in Sandy Relief efforts. It quickly adapts to community needs, supporting critical projects like the Staten Island University Medical Center burn unit and preserving historical artifacts like the Rescue 5 Firetruck.

Our organization is humbled to have received numerous community service awards for its works from organizations such as the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, Rotary Club Organizations, and more. However, we are most honored to have been listed as Number 1 in a Huffington Post Article Titled 9 Ways 9/11 Inadvertently Sparked Good in the World.

The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund is proud that its leadership is comprised completely of volunteers. From its President to its Board of Directors, the organization is able to put back roughly .90 cents of every dollar donated directly into the hands of those who need it most.
