Staten Island NY is full of rewarding donations and volunteer opportunities that you should know about!
Spring has finally sprung throughout Staten Island, which means a lot of people are cleaning out their homes and looking to spend more time outside in our beautiful coastal weather.
And if you’re finding all sorts of clothes and household items that you no longer need, then just remember that our community offers many incredible volunteer and donation options that make it easy and rewarding to give back to our area’s most needy individuals and families.
All of us at The Bini Fund work closely with various charities and organizations throughout Staten Island as we reallocate all of your very generous donations on a regular basis, and we also want all of you to know about these organizations more in depth.
So, check out the below sections to learn more about the most popular volunteer and donation opportunities in Staten Island!

Some of their main programs include collegiate scholarships, food pantries, a STEAM program, a mental health program, Christmas organizations/events, and a world-class incentive program for young students.
We’ve worked closely with this organization for many years, and they host several annual events that provide wonderful volunteer and donation opportunities.
The Emergency Children’s Help Organization (ECHO)
ECHO is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to children living in Staten Island who have undergone a medical or living emergency. They support kids and families with things like medical bills, medical equipment, medical travel expenses, living essentials, educational/athletic programs and therapy.
Their purpose is to care for families going through a difficult journey, and they offer various donation and event opportunities to support their heartfelt cause.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation
Tunnel to Towers is an organization that means a lot to us here at The Bini Fund, because they’re a non-profit that also began shortly after 9/11 in order to support fallen first responder families with young children.
They also specialize in building smart homes for injured veterans and first responders, and one of their main missions is to eradicate veteran homelessness throughout the country.

The Anthony M. Varvaro Believe Foundation
The Anthony M. Varvaro Believe Foundation was founded in honor of the retired MLB player and Port Authority officer Anthony Varvaro, who tragically lost his life while protecting the 9/11 Memorial Service at Ground Zero on September 11, 2022.
This foundation’s mission is to support families and individuals who’ve faced unexpected tragedies, and they also support youth sports in the Staten Island community.

This organization offers many ways to support them, including volunteer, donation, and food drive hosting opportunities.
Meals On Wheels Of Staten Island
Staten Island has a great Meals on Wheels program that serves nutritious meals to our community’s elderly residents. By delivering two daily meals to senior citizens, Meals on Wheels makes it much easier for elderly and physically impaired people to live independently—which is especially necessary for those who can no longer prepare their own meals or go grocery shopping.
And what’s great is that anyone with a valid driver’s license who’s over the age of 18 can volunteer with our Meals on Wheels program. Many of their volunteers only require a couple of free hours for one morning per week to deliver meals, so it’s a wonderful volunteer opportunity that offers convenience and consistency!
New York Cares
New York Cares is an annual coat drive organization that supports the city’s homelessness and widespread hunger issues.
They offer many great volunteer opportunities, including serving in soup kitchens, schools, public parks, senior centers, libraries, and other nonprofit establishments. There are also volunteer opportunities in all five boroughs.

The Bini Golf Outing has always been one of our favorite yearly events, and this year’s outing is shaping up to be one for the record books.
This event honors our organization’s namesake, Carl Vincent Bini, who was an 18-year veteran in the FDNY who tragically lost his life on September 11th, 2001. Over the years, we’ve continued his legacy of supporting others through the outstanding results of the Bini Fund—and events like the golf outing on June 16th are yet another example of how we bring people together to have fun and support the Staten Island community.

Come show your support on April 2nd for the GRACE Foundation of New York as we attempt to break a world record!
All of us at The Bini Fund have loved working closely with our friends over at The GRACE Foundation of New York, and they’re offering an incredible opportunity to break a Guinness World Record on this year’s upcoming World Autism Day!
On April 2nd, we’re supporting the GRACE Foundation as they place over 12,000 autism awareness ribbons on a van. Representatives from Guinness will be in attendance as we attempt to break a world record, while also spreading autism awareness in a really fun way.
The event takes place in the parking lot at 460 W Brielle Avenue, and we’ll be placing ribbons on the van from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 2nd.
Just come by for five minutes, place a ribbon on the van, and be a part of this awesome milestone as the GRACE Foundation aims to break records and spread acceptance for individuals of all abilities!
Remembering Carl V. Bini’s Commitment To Community
We know that Carl would’ve loved the record-breaking event that the GRACE Foundation is planning on April 2nd, because it’s right up his alley in terms of bringing people together for a great cause.
Carl was a prominent member of the NYFD for over 18 years before his life was tragically taken during the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center, and throughout his life he was a great example of how far courage, generosity and compassion go toward community services of all types.
The Bini Fund has since become a testament to Carl’s commitment to community service, and we’ve supported the neediest residents in the Staten Island area for over 20 years in order to make a real difference in people’s lives.
The GRACE Foundation’s World Autism Day Event Aligns Perfectly With Our Values
The GRACE Foundation’s mission is very similar to ours, and this is the type of local NYC organization that we support through our donations and event sponsorships. We full-heartedly believe in what the GRACE Foundation does on a daily basis, because their mission to educate and support members of the Staten Island community who’ve been impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) coincides directly with our core values.
Our cornerstone values include Honor, Commitment and Leadership, and this is why we work closely with organizations like The GRACE Foundation of New York who’ve shown time and time again to support the Staten Island community one day and one event at a time.
Come Place A Ribbon On April 2nd & Help The GRACE Foundation Set A World Record!
All of us at The Bini Fund are very excited about the GRACE Foundation’s upcoming event on April 2nd, and we hope you’ll join us at 460 W Brielle Avenue to place an autism awareness ribbon on their van and get us one step closer toward breaking a Guinness record.

We celebrated with a Viva Las Vegas theme this year, and it definitely wasn’t your average Vegas-themed charity event. From a live Elvis performance, rocking DJs, giveaways and raffles, it’s safe to say that the entire party had a ton of fun while coming together to make positive changes for the Staten Island community.
Check out the event gallery to see some of the amazing pictures that were taken at the Bini Bash, and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram to keep up with all of the latest happenings and announcements happening at our organization.
This Year’s Bini Bash Brought A Vegas Vibe To Staten Island
We always go big for each year’s Bini Bash, but 2025’s celebration was one for the books as our generous community gathered together at the Hilton Garden Inn in serious Vegas style.
We’re talking black-tie attire, flapper dancers, an Elvis concert, memorabilia raffles, a cocktail hour, and a delectable dinner reception. This was one heck of a party that we’ll all remember for a long time, and the best part is that it was all for an incredible cause.
The Bini Bash is always a great example of how fun it can be to come together and support the Staten Island community, and the 2025 Viva Las Vegas bash was absolutely no exception!
Remembering Carl V. Bini
Carl would’ve loved a party like this year’s Bini Bash, not only because it was fun for everyone involved, but because the fun we had together on Jan. 25th went an incredibly long way to make a real difference in aiding those experiencing personal crises throughout the Staten Island community and beyond.
And this generous approach toward community service is what Carl Bini was all about while he was firefighter in the NYFD and an all-around incredible father and community servant.
All of us at the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund can’t express enough how much it means to us to see so many people show up to events like the Bini Bash every year. It’s incredibly heartwarming for all of us to know that you’re here with us as we continue Carl’s legacy of bravery and selflessness, and the 2025 Bini Bash was yet another example of the continuous impact of our organization!
A Special Thanks To Those Who Supported The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund
